Privacy Policy
Your privacy is paramount. This Privacy Policy outlines how PhotoBooth (https://tryphotobooth.com) interacts with your camera hardware, handles data, and ensures complete client-side security.
Privacy at a Glance: 100% Client-Side Architecture
1. Zero-Upload Camera & Webcam Policy
PhotoBooth uses the HTML5 navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia API to display a live video feed from your webcam or mobile camera.
We do NOT transmit, stream, record, or store your live camera video feed on any server.
All image capture, frame rendering, 1970s filter matrix adjustments, sticker placement, and high-resolution canvas compositing occur strictly within your browser local sandbox memory. When you download your finished photo strip, the image file is generated directly on your local device.
2. Optional Weekly Spotlight Gallery Submissions
Visitors have the option to voluntarily share their finished photo strip to our public Weekly Spotlight Gallery.
If and only if you choose to submit a photo strip:
- The rendered canvas image file and optional creator display name are securely transmitted to our database.
- Submissions undergo automated and editorial moderation before public display.
- You retain full ownership of your photograph and may request removal at any time by contacting support. For copyright concerns or content removal procedures, please refer to our DMCA Policy.
3. Cookies & Local Browser Storage
PhotoBooth uses localStorage solely to remember your preferred layout choices, starting filter presets, and cookie consent preferences across sessions. This data remains on your local machine.
Third-party analytics and non-intrusive advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) may set standard cookies to serve relevant advertisements and measure traffic, subject to your cookie banner consent settings.
4. User Rights & Contact
Under GDPR, CCPA, and global privacy standards, you have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of any data you have voluntarily submitted to our platform.
For any privacy-related inquiries, data deletion requests, or questions regarding our client-side architecture, please contact our privacy officer through our Contact Page.
